Spring Clean Up

Service Details

Any City of Plymouth resident or business may utilize spring clean up collection.  Spring clean up is a single day collection that allows for large items and extra trash to be picked up from the curb.  Automated trash carts will not be serviced on this day.  Recycling and compost collection will not occur on this day.

Collection Schedule

Residents NORTH of Ann Arbor Trail will have a pickup date of Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Residents SOUTH of Ann Arbor Trail will have a pickup date of Saturday, May 18, 2024.

All items must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on collection day to ensure pickup.

There is no cost to utilize this service.


How it Works

The contractor will pick up your bulk items from the curb.  To ensure your items are removed quickly and safely, please follow these guidelines:

  • Each household is allowed 8 trash cans or the equivalent, plus two large items (i.e. washer, dryer, couch, desk, etc.).
  • All small refuse must be placed in a container strong enough to hold its weight (i.e. plastic bags, cans, boxes) – which may not exceed 50 pounds.
  • Appliances containing Freon (i.e. refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers, and dehumidifier) must have a valid certificate of Freon removal to be picked up. 
  • Refrigerators or freezers must have the doors must be removed from the hinges.
  • All items placed at the curb for collection must be arranged in a neat and safe manner.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited from being placed out for pickup on spring clean up collection day:

  • Tires
  • Concrete
  • Construction debris
  • Auto parts
  • Piles of dirt, sod, or rocks
  • Extremely large items like boats, cars, engines, motorcycles, snowmobiles, pianos, etc.
  • Household hazardous waste items like gasoline, motor oil, paint thinners, pesticides, medical waste, etc.
