The City of Plymouth Department of Municipal Services Snow and Ice Control Team is in action this afternoon. The City has received approximately a half an inch of snow and it is continuing to fall at this time. City crews are on the road spreading a road salt with a brine solution to help melt the accumulating snow. The brine solution will help activate the road salt quicker, which allows us to use less and be more effecient with our snow and ice control measures.
As of 1:45 p.m., all of the City's Major Streets including, but not limited to Main Street, Penniman, Ann Arbor Trail, Harvey, Farmer, Starkweather and Junction. Crews are also working on some of the city's hills and curves and parking areas as time allows. Drivers should expect all major streets in the city to be wet and slush covered at this time. Residential side streets are snow covered.
County and state roads around the City, like Ann Arbor Road, Sheldon Road, Mill Street have been treated by County crews, and are slush covered at this time. Drivers should use caution on bridges and overpasses and elevated locations like the Central Parking Deck as they will form ice at a faster rate than the normal roadway surfaces.
