City Commission Meeting Summary - July 6

The Plymouth City Commission adopted the final reading of the Wayne County Storm Water Standards Ordinance Amendment at its regular meeting held on July 6, 2021. The update to the ordinance brings the City into compliance to retain its Storm Water Permit from the State of Michigan.

The City Commission authorized the next three City Commission meetings to be held in City parks. The July 19 meeting will be scheduled for Hough Park, the August 2 meeting will be scheduled for Firehouse Park in Old Village, and the August 16 meeting will be scheduled for Kiwanis Park.

The City Commission passed a resolution of support for the Senior Alliance Annual Implementation Plan. The Senior Alliance provides a number of senior services in the City including meals on wheels programs and information referral services.

The City Commission accepted a proposed PUD amendment for the property commonly known as the Starkweather School property during the first reading at Tuesday's meeting. The amendment would change a portion of the zoning on the property from O-2 Office to PUD. A second reading will be scheduled for a future City Commission meeting.

The City Commission also approved three events at Tuesday's meeting: Bumpers, Bikes & Bands in Old Village on July 18, Inside Out Sale (Sidewalk Sales) in Downtown Plymouth on July 30-31, and the Plymouth Community Fall Festival on September 10-12.
