Municipal Services to Brine Streets

The City Department of Municipal Services is out "brining" the major streets and parking lots as of 1:30 this afternoon.  The National Weather Service is forecasting snowfall over the next six (+-)  hours. Crews are putting a brine solution on the roadways at this time to help prevent bonding of the snow onto the pavement and to help reduce the amount of road salt that would be needed to clear the roads and make travel safe.   Please remember when you see our brine trucks or salt trucks on the road please give them plenty of room to work and stay at least 50 feet back from the trucks.
