City Commission Meeting Summary - January 18

The Plymouth City Commission approved the City's new five-year strategic plan at its regular meeting held Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Commissioners and City administration began work on the new plan at a planning session facilitated by Dr. Lew Bender on November 13, 2021. The new strategic plan can be viewed at www.plymouthmi.gov.

The City Commission authorized the design phase for the 2022 Infrastructure Improvement Program. The following areas have been approved for the design phase:

  • Carol Street between McKinley and Evergreen
  • South Evergreen between Carol and Beech
  • Byron between Harvey and Main 
  • South Union between Penniman and North Union
  • Ross between McKinley and Harvey
  • Sanitary sewer and storm sewer repairs
  • ADA sidewalk improvements
  • Replacement of retaining walls on Ann Arbor Trail and Penniman
  • Multi-modal pathway project along the north side of North Territorial near the City/Township boundary
PSLZ presented the annual financial audit of the City of Plymouth to the City Commission. No commission action was necessary.

The City Commission adopted the final reading of the Wayne County Storm Water Management ordinance and Wayne County Storm Water Control Program. This ordinance update was required so the City can acquire its Storm Water Permit from the State of Michigan.

The City Commission also approved the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Mental Health Fair scheduled for April 30 in Kellogg Park.
