City Commission Meeting Summary - February 22

The Plymouth City Commission authorized the purchase of in-car and police body camera video systems at it regular meeting held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Plymouth City Hall. The $150,000 purchase from BodyWarn by Utility includes equipment upgrades and a five-year subscription service. The BodyWarn system is endorsed by the NAACP, Concerns of Police Survivors and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

The City Commission authorized a contract between the City and Shaw Construction to replace both sets of bathrooms at the Plymouth Cultural Center. The new bathrooms will be built to meet American Disability Act (ADA) specifications. The Commission authorized up to $488,829 for the project, with funding coming from a MEDC Grant and Federal ARP funds that the City has already received.

The City Commission also authorized the purchase of three new Chevy Tahoes, approved the hiring process of a full-time recreation supervisor, and appointed David Latawiec to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Harold Read to the Cemetery Board. 

In addition, two special events were approved. The Ghosts of Plymouth Walk on April 23, and the Wilcox Wednesdays Music in the Park in Kellogg Park on Wednesdays between June 15 and August 17.
