Storm Update as of 1:30 p.m.

As of 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, there are still approximately 500 DTE Customers in the City of Plymouth without power at this time.  System wide DTE is indicating that they are currently estimating that power will be restored to 95% of their customers by Sunday, February 26th.  Persons with questions regarding power outages should contact DTE Energy at www.DTEEnergy.com or 1-800-477-4747.

The City Department of Municipal Services will be working extended overtime shifts to continue to clear residential side streets as needed.  In addition, crews are working to collect brush from city trees and residents who place brush at the curb.

We remind property owners that the City only maintains trees in the tree lawn area, which is the area between the street and the sidewalk.  Damaged trees in front yards, side yards and back yards are property owner's responsibility.  In addition, tree removal or trimming contractors are responsible for the removal of any limbs or trees that they remove.  Contractors must not put limbs and other tree debris at the curb as the city does not collect brush from private contractors.

The City Fire Services continues to be responding to multiple calls for service due to downed power lines. Residents are advised to stay away from downed power lines and to contact DTE Energy to report downed lines.

Persons with questions regarding this report should contact the Department of Municipal Services at [email protected].
