City Road Conditions as of 5:00 p.m.
Published on Jan 12, 2024 17:30

City Municipal Services crews have been working throughout the day to prepare for the current snow storm.  Earlier today crews put down a liquid brine solution on the streets to help to prevent a bond of the snow/ice to the street. Once the snow started at approximately 2:00 p.m. crews swapped out the liquid brine only for a road salt and brine mix.

Weather forecasters are calling for rain later tonight, followed by more snow and high winds.  City crews will continue to monitor road conditions.

City Municipal Services Snow and Ice Response Teams are currently working to keep all main city streets open and passable.  Major streets have all been and are continuing to be treated with road salt and brine.  Crews will remain on the job into the evening hours.

All Major Streets, such has Main Street, Farmer, Starkweather, Ann Arbor Trail and Penniman have been treated, but are snow/slush covered.  Caution is advised for drivers.  Residential side streets in the City are snow/slush covered and again, caution is advised.

Trivia at the Plymouth Cultural Center has been cancelled for this evening.  All ice rentals at the facility are going on as scheduled.

Drivers should remember that if you have 4-wheel drive, you also have 4-wheel slide.  Snow equals slow, please use caution when driving tonight.  All roads should be considered snow/slush covered and slick.

Residents and businesses are advised that you cannot push, shovel, or blow snow into the streets as this could cause you personal liability and it violates City Ordinance.
