Heavy Rains expected - Help prevent flooding, check storm drains

The National Weather Service is predicting heavy rains during the overnight hours. You can help prevent local street flooding by checking your neighborhood storm drains, to make sure that they are clear of debris, leaves, and sticks.  We suggest that you be weather aware during the next 24 to 48 hours to take precautions to help prevent flooding or basement back ups.

 Graphic displays the areas of Michigan under a Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday. Locally heavy rainfall is possible in the outlook area as the remnants of the tropical system Beryl track across the region along a stalled frontal boundary. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are possible during this time.
