City Road Conditions as of 3:00 p.m.
Published on Feb 15, 2025 15:15
All of the city's major streets are clear and wet at this time. All major streets have been salted and are open to all traffic and clear. County Roads around the city are also clear and wet with some slush. Residential side streets in the city are snow covered and slick at this time.
At this time, Plymouth is currently receiving a wet snow/drizzle/rain/sleet mix. Temperatures are anticipated to drop later into the evening. Meteorologists are currently anticipating that snow will return to the Plymouth area sometime during the overnight hours, provided that the temperatures drop overnight. Overnight and early morning snow is anticipated to be heavy at times. Drivers should also watch out for glazing of surfaces during the afternoon and evening hours. Sidewalks should be considered slick and be aware of possible ice under the snow. Elevated surfaces such as bridges, overpasses and the Central Parking Deck will re-freeze first due to the elevated design. Caution is advised.
At this time, the Department of Municipal Services is planning on bringing all available resources in at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday to begin to plow the residential side streets. Again, this will depend on what happens overnight and if the current rain/sleet mix turns back into snow. This plan may change in the next 10 to 15 hours, depending on what the weather actually does.
When City Crews are plowing the residential side streets, you can help prevent accumulation of snow that gets pushed from the streets to the curbline and drive approaches. Simply follow these directions and clear out a path "up stream" from your driveway to allow accumulated snow to fall there, rather than back into your drive approach. Also, a reminder not to push, plow or blow snow back into the streets once they have been plowed. For everyone's safety stockpile snow on either side of the driveway in the tree lawn area, between the street and the sidewalk.
